At The Eye Center in Okmulgee and South Tulsa, we offer the following eyecare services for patients of all ages:
No matter what your age, lifestyle, or vision needs, regular eye exams should be part of your annual wellness regimen. Only an eye doctor can perform the comprehensive, thorough eye evaluations that allow us to detect subtle vision changes and early warning signs of potential problems, such as glaucoma and diabetes. Your optometrist will check your eyes both internally and externally, using sophisticated equipment and vision tests to measure factors like curvature, coordination, refractive error, and pressure.
If you have an eye emergency, our optometry team will try to fit you in for a same-day appointment. Our goal is to minimize infection risks and protect your eyes and eyesight from potential problems, so it's important to contact us right away if your eyes or eye area sustain injuries. If there are already signs of infection, we have antibiotic drops and other treatment options to help you heal. The Eye Center has state-of-the-art microscopes and other diagnostic equipment that can instantly assess your injury and determine the right treatment plan.
Our optical lab is fully equipped to customize prescription lenses, so you don't have to go elsewhere for your eyewear needs. If you prefer contact lenses to eyeglasses, our optometry team and optical lab will use your most recent vision tests and contact lens exam to find the right type, shape, and size for your eyes. Our prescription eyewear includes specialty lenses for patients with vision conditions or multiple refractive errors. We also repair broken frames and lenses on site. If anything happens to your new prescription glasses in Okmulgee or South Tulsa, stop by for repairs.
Many refractive errors are caused by irregular curvature of the cornea. During laser vision correction procedures, we use an Excimer laser to create a corneal flap and reshape the surface of the eye. This minimally invasive surgery is designed to flatten your cornea and reduce or eliminate refractive errors, by allowing your eyes to properly refract light once again. Ask your optometrist if you're a good candidate for laser vision correction.
At The Eye Clinic, we team up with local eye surgeons to make sure our community's eye care needs are covered. If you need cataract removal surgery, laser surgery, retinal surgery, or any other surgical eye procedure, we will take care of all your pre-op and post-op needs. Our surgery co-management services include referrals to eye surgeons and specialists, follow-up care to reduce infection risks after surgery, and eyewear and vision therapy to help maximize the results of your treatment.
Our optometry team believes everyone deserves access to quality eye care, so we're proud to give back to the local community. We help provide free eye exams to every kindergartner in Bixby Public Schools, and we also participate in national vision programs like Free InfantSee and Vision USA.
